Overview

The Area Director of Operations is responsible for administering and overseeing all aspects of the day-to-day operations of multiple hospice programs/locations consistent with established goals, objectives, policies, and regulations of Care Hospice. The Area Director of Operations is also responsible for compliance with all regulations, laws, policies, and procedures applicable to hospice regulatory guidelines. The Area Director of Operations will manage the affairs of the local branch locations under the general direction of senior management.

Responsibilities

  • Organizes and supervises the administrative functions of the hospice program and overall local operations.
  • Employs qualified personnel and ensures adequate orientation, training, education, and evaluation.
  • Plans for development of programs related to identified needs, consistent with the purpose and resources of the company.
  • Partners with the community liaisons, in conjunction with Regional Sales Director and local Program Directors, to promote agency's services and develop strong relations with community referral partners.
  • Maintains compliance with applicable laws and regulations, and implement corrective action if needed.
  • Provides insight to senior management regarding end-of-life support opportunities in the community.
  • Determines staffing needs and staffing patterns according to program requirements and standards.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in healthcare, management or business related field required.
  • If RN or LNHA, must have a current unencumbered license in the state of employment.
  • Minimum of two (2) years' experience in health care management, home health, hospice, or related health programs required.
  • Minimum Two (2) years of hospice experience required with intimate knowledge of Medicare/Medicaid and state department of health regulations.
  • Marketing or Business Development experience in a healthcare environment required.
  • Multi-site management experience required, hospice multi-site management experience a plus
  • Must be willing to travel and spend at least 50% of time in assigned region.

$165,000 - $175,000 per year (Average Pay Range). The pay range listed represents a general guideline for the role and is not a guarantee of the final offer. Compensation will be determined based on the selected candidate’s relevant experience and the specific responsibilities of the position. Final compensation rate will be discussed and confirmed at the conclusion of the interview process.
